Overview

  • The first full curriculum revision since 2013 takes effect in the 2025-26 academic year across undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs.
  • Core credit requirements are reduced and first-year class sizes halved from 300 to 150 to ease student workload and enhance faculty interaction.
  • JEE Advanced admittees can switch branches after year one and all undergraduates may petition for an MTech in any discipline at the end of their third year to earn dual degrees in five years.
  • Introductory programming courses now feature AI-based code generators with mandatory training on responsible and ethical use to prepare students for emerging technology trends.
  • Three new programs—a BTech in Design, a BS in Chemistry and an MTech in Photonics—join outcomes-based postgraduate curricula that include capstone projects and summer internships for stronger industry alignment.
