IIT Bombay Retains Top Spot in First JoSAA Allotment for JEE Advanced 2025

With over 2.58 lakh candidates registered for counselling, IIT Bombay secured seats for 78 of the top 100 rankers.

  • In the first round of seat allotment, 78 of the top 100 JEE Advanced rankers secured seats at IIT Bombay.
  • Nine of the top ten rankers registered for JoSAA counselling; all selected IIT Bombay.
  • Of the top 500 rankers, 185 were allotted seats at IIT Bombay; 258 of the top 1,000 rankers also secured spots there.
  • JoSAA opened 18,160 seats across 23 IITs, yet 3,001 qualified candidates, including one from the top ten, did not register for counselling.
  • Established IITs such as Delhi, Madras, Kanpur and Kharagpur attracted many high scorers, and IIT Hyderabad drew five of the top 500 rankers.
