Overview

  • TPG confirmed an unauthorized third party accessed iiNet’s order management system discovered on Saturday, August 16, using stolen employee credentials.
  • Forensic analysis indicates exposure of about 280,000 active email addresses and 20,000 active landline numbers, plus some inactive records.
  • Roughly 10,000 usernames with street addresses and phone numbers and around 1,700 modem setup passwords also appear to have been accessed.
  • The company says no credit card, banking data or identity documents were compromised because that information is not stored in the affected system.
  • Access has been removed and the breach currently appears contained; external experts are assisting, authorities have been notified, customers are being contacted, and a support hotline is available at 1300 861 036.
