Overview
- IIMs announced on Tuesday, September 15 that the CAT 2026 registration deadline has been moved to September 22 at 5 pm and that the date will not be extended further.
- IIM Indore is the organising body for CAT 2026 and said paid applicants will get a short post‑registration edit window that allows changes only to photograph, signature and test‑city preferences.
- Admit cards will be available from November 4 and the computer‑based exam will be held in three two‑hour sessions on November 29 across about 170 cities with results expected in the first week of January 2027.
- Eligibility requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD), the application fee is ₹1,350 for SC/ST/PwBD and ₹2,700 for others, and reservations will follow India’s Government norms.
- Candidates may list up to five preferred test cities but once a centre is allotted it cannot be changed so applicants should complete payment and submit preferences early to avoid being assigned a non‑preferred location.
