IIM Bangalore to Offer First On-Campus Undergraduate Degrees in Economics and Data Science

Overview

  • The School of Multidisciplinary Studies will offer BSc (Hons) in Economics with minors in Data Science and Business, and BSc (Hons) in Data Science with minors in Economics and Business.
  • Eligibility requires completion of Class XII with mathematics (minimum 60% in math) and applicants must be under 20 years (22 for reserved categories) as of August 1, 2025.
  • Annual tuition is set at ₹8.5 lakh per annum, with 20% of fees earmarked for financial aid to support deserving students.
  • The four-year curriculum integrates two internship cycles, an international exchange term and a three-year exit option aligned with National Education Policy guidelines.
  • Programmes will launch at IIMB’s new Jigani campus with 15 faculty members and an inaugural intake of 80 students, scaling to 640 by 2031 and up to 2,000 long term.
