Overview
- IGNOU, which held its 39th convocation on Tuesday, awarded more than 3.24 lakh degrees, diplomas and certificates across India and abroad.
- Degrees were conferred at the same time across regional centres with a live stream to 51 sites, turning the ceremony into a nationwide event.
- Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan led the ceremony and presented PhD degrees and gold medals, noting that women made up 58% of the graduates.
- Seventeen Swayam Prabha studios were opened to scale production of curriculum-based lessons for broadcast and online delivery to remote learners.
- The university also launched an alumni portal and its IGNOU Profile 2026 to connect an estimated 5.3 million graduates and support ongoing engagement.
