Overview
- Buse was confirmed as the official Team World alternate on Monday and will travel to London to join the squad for the Laver Cup at The O2 from Sept. 25–27.
- As an alternate he will take part in team practices and activities, sit on the bench during the three‑day competition, and be available to replace a starter if a player withdraws.
- The call-up follows Buse's breakout 2026 season, during which he won the Hamburg ATP 500 and the Winston‑Salem ATP 250 and rose into the high 30s of the ATP rankings.
- Buse said he hopes to learn from elite teammates and captain Andre Agassi, and he reported brief pre‑event contact with Agassi while stressing he will bring energy whether he plays or supports from the bench.
- Being the first Peruvian named to a Laver Cup roster gives Buse wider exposure at the top level and could raise the profile of Peruvian tennis by drawing attention from sponsors, media and young players at home.
