Overview
- International Film Festival Rotterdam will run January 29 to February 8, 2026 in the Netherlands.
- The festival opens with the world premiere of João Nicolau’s Providence and the Guitar and closes with Rémi Bezançon’s crime comedy Bazaar (Murder in the Building).
- The Tiger Competition features 12 world premieres highlighting new voices, including Charlotte Glynn’s debut The Gymnast, Ana Urushadze’s Supporting Role and Tiago Melo’s Yellow Cake.
- The Big Screen Competition presents 12 titles that examine inherited stories, with selections such as Malek Bensmail’s The Arab, Isabel Sandoval’s Moonglow and Ivo M. Ferreira’s Projecto Global.
- Juries were confirmed along with prizes: the Tiger Award is €40,000 with two €10,000 special jury awards, the Big Screen Award is €15,000, and IFFR offers €15,000 to a Dutch distributor, with Tiger Short selections and Displacement Film Fund projects also announced.
