IFA Spurs New Robot Categories and Heated‑Wash Stations as Makers Push Suction Limits

Manufacturers used IFA 2026 to roll out window, pool and stair‑climbing concepts and to highlight base stations that wash and heat dirty water to cut odour and maintenance.

Overview

  • ECOVACS debuted the WINBOT W2S PRO OMNI at IFA and put it on sale in Germany for €599 with a cordless OMNI station that supplies a 4,500‑mAh battery for up to 110 minutes and an improved TruEdge 2.0 corner system.
  • ECOVACS also announced three new DEEBOT families that introduce hygiene‑focused station features such as timed heated dirty‑water tanks, Giant‑Wave plate flushing and station mop washes up to 100 °C, with some models’ BLAST motors rated up to 40,000 Pa and a staggered availability in September.
  • Roborock showed its Saros‑20 line, whose Flow Complete model won a home&smart Innovation Award for a 36,000 Pa flagship with a 100 °C station wash, revealed a stair‑climbing Saros Rover as a concept with no launch date, and introduced the RockAqua P1 as its first pool robot with about 6,800 GPH suction and up to 3.5 hours runtime.
  • home&smart named the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete its September pick after lab tests scored it 98/100 for cleaning power and reach, citing 42,000 Pa suction, a wide extendable mop and improved hair handling, and reporting that consumer availability has stabilized.
  • High‑end competition is now focused on three tradeoffs for buyers: raw suction figures (up to ~40,000 Pa), larger and more complex docks that heat, wash and dry mop rollers and tanks to reduce odour and maintenance, and new device categories that expand what household robots are expected to do.
