• Through a second review of 590 contested proposals the IECM reinstated 97 projects for public voting, increasing viable options from 13,035 to 13,132 community works and services
• For the first time Mexico City residents living abroad can participate directly in selecting local projects via the free IECM SEI app
• Prospective voters must accept the app’s privacy notice, upload images of both sides of their voting credential, provide contact details and complete a facial recognition check
• Upon completing registration users receive an acknowledgment receipt and secure password that grants access to cast their ballots online
• City-based participants will be able to vote in person at polling stations on August 17 with support available through a telephone information center and a WhatsApp chatbot
