Idris Elba to Establish Major Film Studio in Zanzibar

The Hollywood actor's project aims to bolster the film industry in East Africa with a state-of-the-art facility.

Idris Elba has been allocated 80 hectares of land in Zanzibar for the film studio.
The studio is expected to be on par with Hollywood, Nollywood, and Bollywood facilities.
Zanzibar's investment minister suggests the studio could be named 'Zollywood' or 'Zawood'.
Elba has previously discussed similar plans for a film studio in Ghana.
The project follows discussions with Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the World Economic Forum.
