• On June 11, France will issue a luxury edition of the original Asterix debut album to honor Idefix’s 60th anniversary
• The eighth volume of “Idefix und die Unbeugsamen,” titled “Die Jagd nach dem grünen Fläschchen,” is slated for early July release in German-speaking markets
• Berlin’s Museum für Kommunikation hosted an Idefix lookalike contest on June 1 as part of the anniversary festivities
• The character first appeared in November 1963 in the French magazine Pilote and made his official Asterix debut in March 1965’s “Le Tour de Gaule”
• Named after the French pun “idée fixe,” Idefix is known for his environmental instincts and will reappear this fall in “Asterix in Lusitanien”
