Idaho Teacher Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Battery and Rape of Minor

Jessica Lawson, 36, admitted to sexually assaulting a recently adopted teenage boy and will serve 2 to 20 years in prison.

Jessica Lawson, a former high school teacher, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery and one count of rape of a minor.
Additional charges for providing alcohol and marijuana to the 16-year-old boy were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Lawson was arrested after being found intoxicated in a car driven by the teenage victim, who admitted to the relationship and substance use.
The victim, recently adopted out of the foster care system, faces long-term emotional trauma, according to his parents.
Lawson will serve a minimum of two years in prison, register as a sex offender, and is subject to a 20-year no-contact order with the victim.
