• Investigators published 699 evidence photos from Kohberger’s Washington State University apartment, the latest large batch of materials released in the case.
• The images include two birthday cards he received around his Nov. 21, 2022 birthday, one appearing to be from his parents and another addressed to “Bryem” with a note reading, “I did not lick it b/c #covid.”
• Photos show bare walls and near-empty closets alongside textbooks, essays and assignments from his criminology program, as well as cleaning supplies and a lone black glove.
• The collection also documents items described in captions as hair follicles and possible blood stains, while prosecutor Bill Thompson has characterized the apartment as “spartan” and said nothing of evidentiary value was found there.
• Kohberger has confessed to murdering four University of Idaho students and is serving multiple life sentences, with no public explanation of motive.
