Overview
- Groundbreaking was held at TMC’s ACTREC in Navi Mumbai for the ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology, funded through a Rs 625 crore CSR grant from ICICI Bank.
- The 11-storey, 3.4 lakh sq ft facility will house 12 linear accelerators along with MRI and CT scanners and CT simulators for integrated planning.
- Once operational, expected in 2027, the centre is projected to deliver over two lakh radiation sessions for about 7,200 patients annually and offer OPD and diagnostics to 25,000 new patients.
- Tata Memorial Centre says the block will support research and training and provide evidence-based care to underserved patients.
- The project is part of ICICI Bank’s Rs 1,800 crore programme to build three advanced cancer centres, with work also underway at the Visakhapatnam site alongside Mullanpur plans.
