  • ICE worked with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol under the 287(g) program, with troopers making stops and ICE running records checks on foreign-born drivers encountered during patrols.
  • ICE reports many of those arrested had prior convictions such as DUIs, illegal re-entry, human smuggling, money laundering, assault, and drug offenses.
  • Two additional people were arrested at a nearby marijuana grow operation in connection with the sweep, according to ICE.
  • ICE credits expanded 287(g) partnerships—1,036 agreements in 40 states as of Oct. 6—and points to September DOT/FMCSA actions tightening non-domiciled CDL eligibility as policy backdrop.
