Ice Spice Hit with Copyright Lawsuit Over 'In Ha Mood'
Brooklyn Rapper D. Chamberz Claims Song Copies His Earlier Track 'In That Mood'
- Ice Spice is facing a copyright lawsuit over her hit song 'In Ha Mood', filed by Brooklyn rapper D. Chamberz and his producer, who claim the song infringes on the copyright of their track 'In That Mood'.
- D. Chamberz alleges that 'In Ha Mood' copies the beat, lyrics, hook, rhythmic structure, metrical placement, and narrative context of his song, which was released a year earlier in 2022.
- The lawsuit also suggests that Ice Spice and her producer, Riot, could have heard 'In That Mood' during its airplay on Hot 97 FM in NYC or during one of D. Chamberz's numerous performances in venues near where they reside.
- In addition to Ice Spice and Riot, Capitol Records, 10K Projects, Universal Music Group, and producer RiotUSA are also named in the copyright infringement suit.
- D. Chamberz is seeking at least half of the song's revenue, in addition to other damages.
