Overview

  • President Trump’s administration has directed ICE to make at least 3,000 arrests each day, driving total detentions above 100,000 in his second term, internal DHS data show.
  • Friday’s Southern California operations included raids at a Los Angeles Home Depot and other Westlake locations, with agents detaining workers and shoppers in unmarked vehicles.
  • In San Francisco, at least 15 people—among them four children—were arrested after routine ICE check-ins and held overnight in basement cells lacking beds and adequate food.
  • The Glendale City Jail remains one of the few California facilities housing ICE detainees under an 18-year contract despite the state’s sanctuary law.
  • Lawmakers and immigrant advocates have condemned the tactics as intimidating and are demanding investigations and greater federal oversight of ICE enforcement practices.
