ICE Florida Sweep Nets Over 400 Arrests in Weeklong Operation

DHS is promoting the Florida action as a template for expanded state–local enforcement under the 287(g) program.

  • ICE says the enforcement campaign ran from September 22 to 26 across central Florida and resulted in more than 400 arrests of people without legal status.

  • The operation relied on 287(g) delegated authority with support from the Florida Highway Patrol, Polk and Brevard county sheriff’s offices, the Florida National Guard, and other partner agencies.
  • Florida leads the nation with 327 287(g) agreements, a 577 percent increase since January 2025, according to DHS.
  • In a separate update, DHS announced five additional nationwide arrests of convicted offenders as it underscores a focus on removing what it calls the “worst of the worst.”
