Ice Castles Cripple Creek to Open Jan. 10 After Weather Delay
A late-December return to cold allowed crews to complete the sculptures following a warm spell that paused ice growth.
Overview
- The company confirmed the public opening for Saturday at noon after announcing the revised date on Jan. 2.
- Artisans resumed round-the-clock work after Christmas once temperatures dropped enough to grow and shape the ice.
- This season marks 15 years for Ice Castles and the attraction’s third year in Cripple Creek.
- Visitors will find ice slides, towers, tunnels, caverns, a Frozen Tap Ice Bar, and on-site concessions.
- Tickets are on sale through the Ice Castles website, with staggered openings across sites as Silverthorne began its season on Dec. 19.
