Overview
- From April 6–12, 2025, ICE and federal partners conducted an operation in New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley, arresting 206 undocumented immigrants.
- Of those arrested, 121 had significant criminal convictions or were facing charges for serious crimes such as murder, assault, sex crimes, and drug trafficking.
- The operation focused on transnational criminal organizations, including MS-13, Tren de Aragua, Sureños, and 18th Street gangs.
- Local authorities had previously refused to honor ICE detainers for some of those arrested, which led to their re-apprehension by federal agents.
- New York City Mayor Eric Adams voiced support for ICE's efforts, emphasizing the importance of removing dangerous individuals to enhance public safety.
