Overview

  • The ICC will implement the revised two-ball rule in ODIs from July 2 after adopting Tests on June 17 and T20Is on July 10.
  • Under the new ODI regulation, two new balls will be used until the 34th over and one chosen for overs 35 through 50.
  • Matches reduced to 25 overs or fewer will feature only one new ball across the innings.
  • Teams must submit five named concussion substitutes by role before the toss with like-for-like replacements allowed if needed.
  • The MCC has banned “bunny hop” boundary catches to ensure fairer dismissals under the updated playing conditions.
