ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2024 Kicks Off with New Format
Sixteen countries to compete in 41 games across South Africa, with India entering as defending champions.
- The 15th edition of the ICC Men's U19 World Cup is set to start on Friday, January 19, with 16 countries participating in 41 games across four different venues in South Africa.
- The teams are divided into four groups: Group A includes Bangladesh, India, Ireland, and the USA; Group B includes England, Scotland, South Africa, and West Indies; Group C includes Australia, Namibia, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe; Group D includes Afghanistan, Nepal, New Zealand and Pakistan.
- The tournament will follow a new format with the top three teams from each group progressing to the Super Six stage, starting on January 30.
- The first ever ICC Men’s U19 World Cup was played in 1988, with Australia as the winner. India is the most successful side with five titles.
- The Star Sports Network in India will telecast the 15th edition of the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup and Disney+Hotstar will live-stream the matches in the country.
