Overview
- The ICC said Rauf accumulated four demerit points from two Article 2.21 offences in the India–Pakistan Asia Cup matches on September 14 and 28, converting to two suspension points and a two-ODI ban.
- Rauf missed Pakistan’s first ODI against South Africa on November 4 and will also sit out the second on November 6 in Faisalabad.
- Match referees Richie Richardson and Andy Pycroft led the hearings, with each offence also drawing a 30% match-fee fine for Rauf as Level 1 breaches.
- Other outcomes included a 30% fine and two demerit points for Suryakumar Yadav; official warnings with one demerit point each for Sahibzada Farhan and Jasprit Bumrah; and Arshdeep Singh being cleared after a hearing.
- Pakistani media reported that demerit points were not discussed during Rauf’s hearing and were added later; the ICC notes players may appeal, and no appeal had been reported.
