ICC Bans Haris Rauf for Two Matches After Asia Cup Misconduct Rulings

The suspension follows four demerit points from two September offences being converted into suspension points under the ICC code.

Overview

  • Rauf will miss Pakistan’s One-Day Internationals against South Africa on November 4 and 6 after accumulating four demerit points from incidents on September 14 and 28.
  • The ICC said Rauf twice breached Article 2.21 for conduct bringing the game into disrepute, with each offence drawing a 30% match-fee fine and two demerit points.
  • India’s Suryakumar Yadav was fined 30% of his match fee and given two demerit points; Jasprit Bumrah accepted an official warning and one demerit point; Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan received an official warning and one demerit point; Arshdeep Singh was cleared.
  • Hearings were conducted by Emirates ICC Elite Panel match referees Richie Richardson and Andy Pycroft, covering the IndiaPakistan fixtures on September 14, 21 and 28.
  • Under ICC rules, demerit points stay on a player’s record for 24 months and four points trigger suspension points; no successful appeals were reported at the time of the announcement.
