Overview
- ICAI has now deferred CA Final and Intermediate papers scheduled in Kathmandu on September 11–15, expanding an earlier pause on the September 9–10 papers.
- The postponement applies only to the Kathmandu centre, and exams at all other centres in India and abroad continue as per the issued schedules.
- Revised dates for the affected Kathmandu papers will be published on icai.org when the situation is judged safe to conduct exams.
- ICAI’s president reiterated the centre-by-centre safety policy, stating exams are deferred only where on-the-ground conditions make them infeasible.
- The Nepal unrest followed a temporary ban on 26 social platforms and escalated into violence and political resignations, while ICAI also managed separate earlier disruptions from Punjab flooding.
