Ibross-Led Study Lists 100 Best Public Hospitals in Brazil

Overview

• The selection draws on Ministry of Health SIH records from August 2024 to July 2025 and includes only hospitals with exclusive SUS care and more than 50 beds, excluding psychiatric and long‑term facilities.
• Ibross coordinated the project with OPAS/OMS, Instituto Ética Saúde, Conass and Conasems to spotlight quality and efficiency across the public network.
• The evaluation applied measurable criteria such as hospital accreditation, occupancy and mortality rates, ICU bed availability and average length of stay.
• São Paulo hosts 30% of the listed hospitals, followed by Goiás with 10% and Pará and Santa Catarina with 7% each, reflecting uneven distribution across states.
• Examples on the list include Hospital de Clínicas da Unicamp in Campinas, Hospital Regional de Piracicaba and Hospital Estadual de Sumaré, with the final ranked top ten set for release in May 2026.
