Telum II features eight high-performance cores running at 5.5GHz with a 40% increase in cache capacity.
The integrated AI accelerator in Telum II delivers 24 trillion operations per second (TOPS) with INT8 support.
Spyre AI Accelerator card contains 32 cores and can be scaled up to 256 cores per system for complex AI workloads.
Both chips are designed to support ensemble AI methods, improving accuracy and performance in applications like fraud detection.
IBM Z mainframes with these new chips are expected to be available in the first half of 2025.
