IBM Acquires Software AG's StreamSets and WebMethods for €2.13B

IBM is acquiring Software AG's StreamSets and webMethods platforms for €2.13 billion ($2.3 billion) in cash.
The acquisition is part of IBM's broader strategy to bolster its AI and hybrid cloud offerings.
StreamSets and webMethods are part of Software AG's Super iPaaS (integration platform-as-a-service) enterprise technology platforms.
The deal is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals.
Software AG is majority owned by private equity firm Silver Lake, which currently owns 93.3% of shares in the German software company.
