- AI was used by 41.9% of large industrial firms in 2024—4,261 of 10,167—up from 16.9% (1,619 firms) in 2022, according to the new Pintec survey.
- Use is concentrated in administration (87.9%) and commercialization (75.2%), with lower uptake in production (52.0%) and logistics (51.4%).
- Adoption rises with company size, reaching 57.5% among firms with 500 or more employees versus 42.5% for those with 250–499 and 36.1% for 100–249.
- Cloud computing remains the most widespread advanced technology at 77.2%, followed by the Internet of Things at 50.3%, with AI ahead of robotics at 30.5%.
- Firms report large gains in efficiency and flexibility (90.3% and 89.5%) but flag high costs (78.6%) and shortages of qualified staff (54.2%) as main barriers, while telework fell to 43% of companies.
