• Iberdrola agreed to buy Previ’s 30.29% holding in Neoenergia at 32.5 reais per share for a total of R$11.95 billion, about €1.88 billion.
• The deal would increase Iberdrola’s ownership from roughly 53% to about 84% once completed.
• The transaction requires Brazilian regulatory clearance, with closing expected in the coming months.
• Neoenergia supplies electricity to around 40 million people, operating five distributors, 18 transmission lines, over 725,000 km of distribution networks, and about 3,800 MW of mainly hydro generation.
• In 2024 Neoenergia invested more than R$9.8 billion in basic infrastructure to expand, upgrade, maintain, and automate its network.
