Overview
- Iberdrola has taken delivery of the last of the 84-meter, 2,100-tonne monopiles destined for its Windanker wind farm in German Baltic waters.
- The foundations were manufactured by Navantia Seanergies and Windar Renovables at the upgraded Fene facility under the 2021 framework agreement.
- The Fene plant modernization expanded XXL monopile fabrication capacity and created 300 direct jobs in the region.
- Windanker’s 315 MW will join Iberdrola’s 1,100 MW Baltic Hub alongside Wikinger and Baltic Eagle under a €3.5 billion joint investment.
- The offshore farm is slated to begin operations in 2026 with 15 MW turbines, advancing Iberdrola’s drive toward 6,500 MW of offshore wind by 2030.
