  • Manish Ranjan, an Intelligence Bureau section officer based in Hyderabad, was killed in a terrorist ambush near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22 while traveling with his family.
  • His wife and two young children escaped the attack unharmed after Ranjan urged them to flee in the opposite direction upon hearing gunfire.
