Overview

  • AEW began a seven-show run at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena on August 27, with dates scheduled through September 11.
  • IATSE Local 8 staged pickets and handbilling, posted videos, and reported at least 75 public letters sent through Action Network.
  • An AEW spokesperson said the promotion has paid and will continue to pay prevailing wages and characterized the demonstrations as a matter between the venue and the union.
  • 2300 Arena CEO Roger Artigiani said workers at the venue are receiving the fair wage that the union claims is not being paid.
  • The union published its area-standard benchmark of $40 per hour for journeymen ($54.40 all-in with contributions), said it has not received documentation proving those standards are met, and warned that any independent-contractor misclassification could violate Pennsylvania’s Act 72.
