IAF Extends AFCAT 02/2026 Registration to June 21
The short extension requires eligible candidates to apply online by late June 21 to enter a merit-based selection for 379 vacancies with training slated for July 2027.
Overview
- The Indian Air Force moved the final registration date for AFCAT 02/2026 to June 21, giving applicants only hours to submit forms through the official portal before the late-night deadline.
- All applications must be filed at afcat.edcil.co.in and the AFCAT entry carries a ₹550 plus GST fee while NCC Special Entry and GATE Score Entry candidates are exempt from the charge.
- Branch rules differ: Flying branch applicants must meet the 20–24 age band and technical and non-technical ground duty posts require relevant degrees such as B.Tech or a graduation in the specified discipline.
- Selection follows a multi-stage, merit-based process starting with the two-hour AFCAT online exam (100 questions, 300 marks), followed by AFSB interviews, document checks and medical tests.
- The drive targets 379 posts across AFCAT, NCC Special Entry and GATE routes and selected candidates are scheduled to begin training in July 2027, increasing competition and urgency for last-minute applicants.
