Overview

• Five Mi-17s and a Chinook were deployed from Northern Sector bases including Chandigarh, with additional helicopters and transport aircraft kept on standby.
• An IAF C-130 landed in Jammu carrying relief supplies and an NDRF team to reinforce ground operations.
• Over 15 sorties have been flown, with more than 110 people rescued across the flood-affected belt.
• Winch operations pulled 12 Army troops and 11 BSF personnel to safety in Akhnoor, and 38 soldiers plus 10 BSF personnel in Dera Baba Nanak.
• IAF crews evacuated 46 stranded civilians in Pathankot and airlifted all 50 Punjab Irrigation Department staff from Madhopur Headworks, while over 750 kg of relief material was airdropped.
