Hyundai's Supernal Unveils S-A2 eVTOL Vehicle at CES 2024

Designed for urban travel, the electric air taxi is expected to launch in 2028 and operates as quietly as a dishwasher.

Hyundai's air mobility division, Supernal, unveiled its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, the S-A2, at CES 2024.
The S-A2, designed for urban travel, can cruise at 120mph at an altitude of 1,500 feet and is capable of short trips between 25 to 40 miles.
The vehicle is designed to operate as quietly as a dishwasher, with a noise level of 65 dB during takeoff and landing and 45 dB while cruising.
Supernal plans to begin flight tests by the end of 2024 and aims to officially launch the vehicle in 2028.
The company is exploring different battery options, including lithium-metal and solid-state batteries, and has a modular design to accommodate future technology improvements.
