Hyundai Unveils Production-Ready MobED Robot for H1 2026 Launch

The modular platform arrives in Pro and Basic versions that separate full autonomy from a developer-focused base.

Overview

  • Hyundai presented the finalized MobED platform at iREX 2025 in Tokyo, advancing the robot from its CES 2022 concept to production-ready status.
  • The four-wheeled system combines AI with LiDAR-and-camera sensing plus an eccentric posture-control mechanism and DnL wheel modules to stay level and navigate tight or uneven terrain.
  • The Pro model integrates full autonomy and a follow-me mode, while the Basic model ships without pre-installed autonomy for researchers and developers to build custom applications.
  • Published specifications list payloads of roughly 47–57 kg, a 1.47 kWh battery for about 4 hours of operation, 10–90% charging in under 2.5 hours, and a 0–40°C operating range.
  • Hyundai positions MobED for roles spanning last-mile delivery, logistics, inspection and consumer support, with pricing yet to be announced.
