Overview
- At its CEO/Investor Day on Wednesday Hyundai set targets to launch more than 100 new or revised models by 2030, reach 5.55 million annual sales and make 60 percent of its lineup electrified.
- Near-term rollouts are concrete: Ioniq 5 robotaxi deliveries to Waymo are planned for 2026, the Santa Fe range‑extender EREV will enter production in the first half of 2027 at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, and the Ioniq 3 and new Tucson are due imminently.
- Hyundai said it will add roughly 1.27 million units of global production capacity by 2030, including 500,000 in North America and a push to source more than 80 percent of parts locally there.
- The plan ties product moves to tech bets: partnerships with Waymo, Nvidia and Amazon, new battery cells Hyundai says cut cost and charge faster for EREV and BEV programs, and a rollout of Boston Dynamics Atlas robots in factories from 2028.
- Hyundai will expand brands and performance lines by growing Genesis toward about 350,000 annual sales and scaling N to 100,000 units with a new High‑Volume Performance tier, while some technical details such as exact BEV counts and final N powertrains remain unspecified.
