Overview
- Hyundai will sell the 2026 Kona Electric only as the SE with a 48.6 kWh standard-range battery rated at about 200 miles EPA.
- The sole configuration pairs a 133 hp front motor with 100 kW DC fast charging, yielding an estimated 10–80% charge time of roughly 43 minutes.
- SEL, N Line, and Limited trims are discontinued, along with the former 64.8 kWh long-range pack rated at 261 miles and the 201 hp motor.
- Hyundai labels the 2026 Kona EV a carry-over, adds a larger console tray, and includes vehicle-to-load capability that requires a separate adapter.
- Pricing is not yet announced, and coverage says the reduced spec undercuts the Kona’s standing versus the new Nissan Leaf (303 miles, $31,485) and the refreshed Chevrolet Bolt.
