Hyundai Shows Staria Camper Concept With Solar Pop-Top at CMT Stuttgart

The study tests European interest in an electric camper before any decision on series production.

Overview

  • Built on the Staria Electric platform, the concept targets an 800‑volt system with 160 kW front‑drive, roughly 400 km WLTP range and 10–80% charging in about 20 minutes.
  • The electrically operated pop‑up roof integrates a 520 W solar panel rated up to 2.6 kWh per day to support off‑grid functions such as a fridge, lighting and ventilation.
  • The cabin features rotating front seats, a two‑person fold‑flat bed, an electric hob with sink and 36‑liter fridge, smart dimmable glass and a ceiling‑folding touchscreen for controls.
  • Travel‑oriented additions include an extendable outdoor table, an integrated exterior shower, revised suspension and extra insulation for improved comfort.
  • Hyundai is collecting feedback at the stand and online with no production commitment, and one report notes the show vehicle appears not to use the electric model’s closed front fascia.
