Hyundai Recalls Over 226,000 Vehicles in U.S. for Faulty Rearview Cameras

Hyundai is recalling more than 226,000 vehicles in the U.S. and over 48,000 in Canada due to rearview cameras that may fail to display images.
The issue stems from cracks in solder joints on the camera's circuit board, which can worsen over time and cause malfunctions.
The recall covers 2021-2022 Santa Fe and Elantra models, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.
No crashes or injuries related to the defect have been reported, but the malfunction increases the risk of pedestrian-related accidents.
Hyundai will notify affected owners by January 19, 2025, and dealers will replace the cameras at no cost to vehicle owners.
