Hyundai Recalls 568,850 Palisades for Faulty Seatbelt Buckles as Ioniq 6 Faces Separate Charging-Port Fix

Dealer replacements begin in November following a 13-month probe that identified the buckle flaw.

Overview

  • The recall covers certain 2020–2025 Palisades made in Korea, with driver, front passenger, and second-row window-seat buckles that may fail to latch.
  • Hyundai traced the issue to improperly machined buckle guides from supplier ZF Lifetec, and dealers will perform the remedy at no cost.
  • Until repaired, owners are advised to insert the tongue quickly, listen for a firm click, pull to confirm security, and watch for a recessed button or a lighter-than-normal click, especially in cold weather.
  • Hyundai and NHTSA have received 546 Palisade buckle complaints with no reports of crashes or injuries.
  • A separate recall involves 31,042 2023–2025 Ioniq 6 EVs for charging-port doors that may detach, with free inspections and replacements and six complaints reported without injuries.
