Hyundai Recalls 568,576 Palisade SUVs for Third-Row Airbag Risk

Regulators say a remedy is still being developed for the third-row curtain airbag problem.

Overview

  • NHTSA says side curtain airbags protecting third-row occupants may deploy improperly in a crash.
  • The recall covers certain 2020–2025 model-year Palisade SUVs in the U.S., totaling 568,576 vehicles.
  • A repair is not yet available, with owner notification letters expected in mid-March, according to NHTSA.
  • The affected airbag modules were supplied by Sweden’s Autoliv, the regulator said.
  • A separate recall covers 41,651 vehicles for an instrument panel display failure to be fixed by a software update delivered over the air or at dealers, affecting select 2025–2026 Hyundai models including Tucson, Ioniq 5, Santa Fe, Sonata, and Palisade.
