Hyundai's $5.5 billion Georgia-based plant, in partnership with LG Energy Solution, to employ roughly 8,500 workers and aims to produce 300,000 electric vehicles annually, running completely on renewable energy.

  • Hyundai has completed 99.9% of the foundational work for its first US electric vehicle (EV) and battery plant in Georgia, putting it on track to begin production in early 2025.
  • Around 2,000 workers are on the site daily, with building logistics and construction features carefully planned to incorporate Hyundai's brand identity, the locale, and renewable energy principles.
  • The plant will be powered by renewable energy sources and a solar parking lot, expected to generate 5.2 megawatts of energy.
  • Once operational, the plant will produce 300,000 EVs annually, employing 8,500 workers between Hyundai and its battery joint venture with LG Energy Solution. An additional 6,000 jobs will be created through suppliers in nearby counties.
  • The total projected investment into the EV plant venture is $7.6 billion, making it the largest economic development project in Georgia's history. The state and local governments have also offered an incentive package of $2.1 billion in tax breaks.
