Hyundai and Kia Recall Over 90,000 Vehicles For Fire Risk, Advise Parking Outside

The recall affects over 90,000 vehicles from the 2023 and 2024 model years including Hyundai Palisade, Tucson, Sonata, Elantra, Kona, and Kia Soul, Sportage, Seltos.
The issue is damaged electrical components in the electronic controller for the Idle Stop & Go oil pump assembly that can overheat.
Kia has reported six cases of melting components and Hyundai has confirmed four "thermal incidents," but no injuries reported.
Owners advised to park vehicles outside and away from structures until recall repairs completed.
Dealers will inspect and replace the defective electric oil pump controllers for free.
