Hytale Rolls Out First Early Access Patch With Dinosaurs, Combat Fixes, and QoL Upgrades

The first patch signals a fast, player‑driven update cadence following the game's revival into Early Access.

Overview

  • Pre-release Update #1 adds dinosaurs to Zone 4’s underground areas, improves melee hit detection, tunes burn and lava behavior, and lets players place torches while dual-wielding.
  • Crafting and progression get smoother with cheaper backpacks, doubled bench pull radius for nearby chests, faster hide-to-leather processing, and a range of UI, performance, and server command improvements.
  • Hypixel Studios is distributing the update via the launcher’s pre-release channel and says it will maintain a rapid patching schedule to address issues and add content.
  • Hytale entered paid Early Access on January 13 via its own PC launcher, offering integrated multiplayer, dedicated servers, and server-side mod distribution with a Share Code join system.
  • Launch interest was substantial, with founder Simon Collins-Laflamme reporting a 2.8 million peak concurrent player count and third-party reports of roughly 420,000 Twitch viewers, as pre-purchases secured about two years of development without a firm 1.0 date.
