HYDRAA Reclaims Five Acres in Banjara Hills, Says Land Worth Rs 750 Crore
Officials say the drive targeted a fake survey claim that stalled a planned water reservoir.
Overview
- HYDRAA teams, working with Revenue officials and police, removed fencing and sheds and then installed new barriers and boards marking the tract as government land.
- The occupant, identified as Parthasarathi, is accused of using an unregistered sale deed and a bogus sub-number, 403/52, to assert control over survey number 403.
- Four criminal cases were registered at Banjara Hills police station over alleged intimidation using bouncers and dogs and over interference with public works.
- HYDRAA reported that 1.20 acres within the site had been allotted to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for a reservoir project that faced obstruction.
- The agency said Friday’s actions also cleared other sites for a combined 12.5 acres across the city, and it cites a year-to-date recovery of 923.14 acres through 96 drives and roughly 581 removals.
