Hyderabad’s Hafizpet, Huppuguda, HiTech City Station Upgrades Near Completion

The works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme are slated to open to commuters within three months.

  • South Central Railway says the three suburban redevelopments are in their final phase, with public readiness expected by year-end 2025.
  • Total spending stands at ₹81.97 crore: Hafizpet ₹29.21 crore, Huppuguda ₹26.81 crore with a new second entry, and HiTech City ₹25.95 crore with a new booking office and redesigned facade.
  • Passenger-focused additions include 12‑ft‑wide foot overbridges with two lifts and escalators, expanded circulating areas, new waiting halls, added platform shelters and accessible restrooms.
  • At Hafizpet about 80% of works are complete, including FoB girders and platform extensions, while the facade, lifts, escalators and a waiting hall are in progress.
  • Hafizpet handles roughly 9,000 daily passengers with about 60 MMTS services and eight express halts, and SCR notes a proposal to add short- and long-distance stoppages at HiTech City as part of Telangana’s 40-station, ₹2,752 crore program.
