Hyderabad’s 85th Numaish Opens Jan. 1 With Expanded Safety and Transport Plans

Organisers detail security, transport, visitor amenities for the 45-day fair.

Overview

  • Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will inaugurate the exhibition at the Nampally grounds, which runs through February 15.
  • About 1,050 manufacturers, traders and artisans from across India will showcase goods alongside government and private stalls, with around 20 food counters on site.
  • Entry is priced at Rs 50 per person with free access for children under five, and the fair will open 4 p.m.–10:30 p.m. on weekdays and until 11 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.
  • Metro services from Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally and TSRTC buses will operate with higher frequency and extended hours, and parking includes Gruha Kalpa, Chandra Vihar, Gagan Vihar, Bhimrao Vada and a paid multi-level facility near Handloom House.
  • Safety measures include 106 security personnel, 214 volunteers, 120 CCTV cameras, two 1.5 lakh-litre water tanks feeding 82 hydrants, two stationed fire engines and a police control room.
